About Us
The Best FC in Division One!
Freetown Football Club is a Sierra Leone football club formerly known as Black Stars Football Club which was formed in 2010. Black Stars Football Club was acquired on June 1, 2020 by Humphrey Tari Benibo. Freetown Football Club is a club dedicated to providing players with opportunities to play and develop their football skills and talents in view of giving them a sense of belonging to a family that they can call their own. It’s a club that brings families together to share their passion, stories, talents and aspirations with the community. The current President, Dr. Comfort Anigbo is a retired lecturer at Washington University.
We compete in the Eastern Regional Football League 1st Division under Kenema Football Association. The Eastern Regional Football Association 1st Division consists of 24 Provincial Clubs in the league. The top two teams in the league join other top two teams each from the other 4 regions, for playoffs to get promoted to the Premier League in Sierra Leone. At the end of the play-offs, three teams qualify to be promoted to the Premier League.

What We Do
Freetown FC
Freetown Football Club was founded to develop young talents in various communities giving them the platform to grow into professionals. We young talents and develop them in view of giving them the exposure they needed in their careers as footballers.
Our Objectives
The club was founded in 2020 to develop young talents in various communities; giving them the platform to grow into professionals. We also scout for young talents and develop them in view of giving them the exposure they needed in their careers as footballers.
Football Academy
Freetown FC is a club with a vision to discover, develop and give young players the platforms to get exposure to the world of football. We hope to establish The Freetown FC Academy in due course from where we will train youth players to learn and develop their skills and talents.
The Academy will have its own training facility in Freetown, Sierra Leone. So far, we are in talks with the The Prince Of Wales Secondary School, Freetown, Sierra Leone and we hope to expand the catchment area to other secondary schools in Freetown and Kenema.
Female Academy
Freetown FC also has a plan to establish a female football arm of the main Club. Today female football is deemed to one of the fastest areas of growth in the football industry. Midway through this new season, we will start recruiting females in and around Kenema and starter preliminary training with them. Our target time for a full fledged female team is next season.
